Oracle Interested in Iranian Market

Iran recently hosted executives from the global computer technology corporation Oracle, said a member of the Executive Board of Information Technology Organization of Iran. According to Khosro Saljooghi, the Iranian organization, which is a subsidiary of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, hosted a representative of Oracle Corporation who expressed the company's interest in starting business in Iran, Fars News Agency reported.  The name of the company's representative was not mentioned. Saljooghi added that other competitors have also presented proposals to cooperate with Iranian IT firms. Headquartered in Redwood, California, the company primarily specializes in developing and marketing computer hardware systems and enterprise software products, particularly its own brands of database management systems. In 2011, Oracle was the second-largest software maker by revenue, after Microsoft.
