Iranian and Indonesian ministers of science called for further expansion of mutual cooperation in science and high-tech domains this week.

In a meeting with Indonesia's Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education, Mohammad Nasir, Iran's Science Minister Mohammad Farhadi highlighted Iran’s progress in nanotech, biotech, petrochemistry and polymer fields, ISNA reported.

"Iran is ready to share experiences and cooperation with Indonesia in these areas," he said, adding that Iranian universities and scientific centers are ready for cooperation with Indonesian counterparts.

Mohammad Nasir called for holding the fifth joint commission for scientific and high-tech cooperation. The minister noted that Indonesian universities and research centers are ready for cooperation and scientific partnership with Iran.

Iran has been pushing for further engagement with Indonesia by signing MoUs with universities of that country for exchange of student among other agreements.
