The Eighth International Iran Nano 2015 Festival opened on Monday at Tehran's International Fairground with the participation of 160 Iranian and international companies, universities and research centers.

Active institutes participating in the 8th International Nanotechnology include Nano Students Club, specialized bookshop, academic associations, educational companies, scientific centers and technology parks.

Industrial companies participated from equipment manufacturing, water, health and hygiene, building and paint, nanomaterial, textile and polymer industries. Consultative and service providing companies as well as technology service providers and international companies are attending the festival, which will continue until October 8.

A stall is allocated to innovative projects in the festival just like the previous three years. The jury has selected 31 top projects and the stall presents prototypes that have proceeded beyond laboratorial level and have succeeded in acquiring the Nano Scale Certificate to attract investors.

Ambassadors of various countries and representatives of companies have been invited to visit the event.

According to the Secretary-General of Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council Saeid Sarkar, the meetings and visits of ambassadors will help initiate cooperation in the field of research and technology transfer from Iran to other countries, and facilitate investment in the Iranian market.

The opening ceremony of the festival was attended by Iran's Vice President for Science and Technology Affairs Sorena Sattari, head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Ali Akbar Salehi, and first deputy speaker of the parliament, Mohammad-Hassan Aboutorabi Fard.
