Iran's ICT Guild Organization has received the authorization to host the 21st International Exhibition of Electronics, Computer and E-Commerce.

According to Nasser Ali Sa'adat, head of IIG, the guild negotiated this deal with the Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade.

Elecomp offers an opportunity for Iranian information and communications technology firms to showcase their latest achievements and promotes the development of this industry.

With a top-notch exhibition, guild members can demonstrate that the Iranian ICT industry has the potential to grow in the post-sanctions era.  Sa'adat noted that IIG "has never been a profit-seeking organization and only intends to supervise the event".

IIG functions as a nongovernmental body with more than 9,000 members active in Iran's ICT industry.

Considering the lucrative presence of well-known brands, every year many entities compete to win the rights for holding the exhibition. Over the past few years, this rivalry has had an adverse impact on the industry.

Last year, it reached a climax when the official permission was issued and revoked several times. This prompted the Communications and Information Technology Minister Mahmoud Vaezi to boycott the fair altogether.
