The technical and engineering faculties of Tehran University have been ranked 56th in the world for having shown strength in producing research related to a variety of engineering subjects. These included aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and civil engineering, Mehr News Agency wrote. According to examination of factors by US News, Tehran University's engineering faculty is ahead of Sharif University of Technology of the same city, which ranked 58th on the same list. The overall evaluation of the universities puts the two atop all other Iranian universities.
