MTN-Irancell, Iran's second largest operator, is holding a photo contest on social networking site Instagram with the theme of depicting acts of kindness during the holy month of Ramadan. After holding other contests using MTN-Irancell's Instagram account, the group is now hosting a new photo contest about Ramadan. Upon uploading pictures and videos no later than July 21, the user who gets the most "likes" will win an Apple iPhone 6. MTN-Irancell states only works, which are in full compliance with ethical and Islamic codes, will have the chance to enter the contest. This latest media campaign by the jointly owned South African network operator is the latest in recent years to offer high-end prizes to its subscribers. Other mobile networks like MCI (Hamrahe Aval) have also devised competitions for the holy month. MCI, Iran's largest mobile operator is also offering an Instagram competition asking users to show their post-fasting meals, called Iftar. This year's offer of an iPhone 6 does raise questions regarding the item on offer. Some have criticized the mobile operator for offering a phone brand with no official representation.
