The Iran National Laser Center has given domestic knowledge based companies permits to mass produce over 40 laser systems, Hassan Nabavi, head of the center, told IRNA on Monday. The granted permissions will allow local companies to produce lasers for different industries including medical industry as well as for research purposes, the official noted. Presently, Iranians have only been given permission to use foreign produced laser systems, which have no after-sale services, he mentioned. "The Iran National Laser Center is concerned with providing Iranians with quality laser systems and an efficient after-sale service," Nabavi noted. The official reluctantly admitted that even though the local companies have been given the permission to build the systems, some parts will still be imported due to supply problems.
