Dollar and Gold Gain in Tehran

Foreign exchange rates rose on Sunday in Tehran market. The US dollar gained 1.69% or 4,000 rials during the day to wrap up the second day of the week at 236,500 rials. The currency was traded at 221,680 rials at the regulated market -- 1.84% higher than the day before, Eghtesad News website said. 
The regulated market is a network of banks and certified moneychangers under CBI auspices and deals in wholesale currency.
Exchange shops affiliated to banks, such as Melli Exchange, quoted the greenback at 224,300 rials 057% higher than Saturday. 
Other major currencies also climbed. The euro gained 0.75% to finish Sunday trade at 284,960 rials while the British pound posted 0.63% growth to be traded at 320,430 rials. 
The UAE dirham saw the highest growth and fetched 65,500 rials 3.35% higher than Saturday's close. The Turkish lira was 0.64% higher than the previous day at 31,900 rials. 
Gold coins were also in the race. The Emami gold coin posted 2.77% increase to buy 10.8 million rials. Half Bahar Azadi gold coin gained 1.7% and was worth 58 million rials, the Tehran Gold and Jewelry Union reported. 
The quarter Bahar Azadi coin shot up 2.63% to close at 38 million rials. Gold coin prices in Tehran are almost always  impacted by forex rates.
