The 7th International Innovation and Technology Exhibition (Inotex 2018) is set to put the development of smart cities under the limelight and draw attention to the application of modern technologies in everyday life.
People in charge of Inotex 2018 shed light on the particulars of the upcoming round of the fair in a press conference on Sunday.
According to Digiato, a local technology website, Pardis Technology Park will sponsor the three-day event, aided by the Vice Presidential Office for Science and Technology, alongside several private entities.
Scheduled to open on July 5, the event is set to take place at Tehran Municipality Specialized Exhibition Center in Goftogu Park, hosting more than 350 firms, startups and knowledge-based companies.
Main Theme
Akbar Qanbarpour, secretary of Inotex 2018, noted that “smart city” will be the main theme of this round of the event, saying, “This round of Inotex will focus on the application of smart technologies in fields of energy management, transportation, Internet of Things, infrastructures, health and hygiene and environment.”
Officials announced that firms from eight countries, namely Georgia, Kazakhstan, Oman, Iraq, Pakistan, Indonesia, Poland and Turkey, will take part in the event.
Qanbarpour added that the upcoming fair welcomes countries that are less technologically advanced; an approach which aims to facilitate exports of Iranian-made technology goods and technology-based services.
Lectures and Panels
Lectures and panels such as TEDx Salon, Baani Event and Tehran’s Creative Morning are among the programs scheduled for the event, as reported by Zoomit.ir.
A member of Inotex managing board, Reza Ghiabi said infrastructure providers and authorities, including network operators, copyright monitoring firms, major e-commerce companies, Iran’s Farabourse and the Cyberspace Police, are also to participate in this round of the event.
Ghiabi mentioned a special item called “Stage”, planned to feature some significant startups and their services.
Various Contests
Seyyed Ali Hezaveh, chief of Innovation Acceleration Center (Technovation), also underlined another initiative titled “Fekrino” (meaning ‘new idea’) as a tool to bridge the gap between academic bodies and businesses.
The program, initiated on April 26, asks participants to come up with new ideas about the mechanics of making an exhibition innovative. The top 12 ideas will compete in Inotex 2018.
“Inotex Pitch” is another special segment to be featured and acts as a contest among startups in different fields.
Hezaveh highlighted two groups of startup investors as special guests, namely prominent domestic venture capitalists and angel investors.
Inotex 2018 is set to comprise four sectors, dealing with various aspects of showcasing, business events, promotional activities and joint ventures. Pavilion applicants can register online as of May 14 up to May 26. For more information, visit www.inotex.com.
