Iran ICT Guild Organization has announced the dates for the 24th International Exhibition of Electronics, Computer and E-Commerce (Elecomp 2018) to be held in Tehran International Fairground.
Head of the organization Naserali Sa’adat says this year’s four-day event will open on July 28 and conclude on 31, reported Digiato.
As with the previous three years, domestic and foreign firms will take part in the exhibition, which is organized by the ICT Guild Organization, to showcase their latest achievements, products and services in the field of information and communications technology.
One of the major sections of the event is the startup competition dubbed “Elecom Stars”, during which the most promising companies will win a prize financed by Iran’s ICT Guild Organization.
During the previous rounds, the startup sector was a bid draw for the public. Figures support the statement as the first Elecomp event hosted 80-100 startups and the number reached 450 in the last year’s exhibition.
Earlier, Sa’adat had talked about a merger between the two major ICT exhibitions in the country, Elecomp and Telecom.
Sa’adat retracted his previous comments, saying Elecomp will be held in the summer and Telecom in autumn.
“The two events are different in nature. Telecom is a professional business-to-business exhibition while Elecomp covers a wider range of topics.”
