    Sharif University Hosts Mobile App Hackathons

    The Second Mobile App Hackathon was hosted by Sharif University of Technology on Thursday. School and university students as well as university graduates competed during the 48-hour event in teams of two to four to create alpha versions of mobile phone software and apps. The type of apps designed was determined by the board of jurors that comprised university professors and programming specialists. The event was overseen by Sharif University's Mobile Value Added Service Lab, IRNA reported. The concluding ceremony is to be held on Saturday and the top three winning teams will be announced by Monday. The event presented an opportunity for all computer enthusiasts to learn and play. Contesters were prompted to produce innovative mobile phone software and applications that can be commercialized.  The event also focuses on discovering original talent. While promoting efficient socioeconomic behaviors in modern businesses, the hackathon helps nurture creative problem solving and distinctive ideas in the realm of mobile programming.
