A knowledge-based company has produced a water cooler that uses disposable straws to significantly reduce water consumption.
Mohammad Hossein Dehqan Dehnavi, the CEO of Noavaran Behineh Karan Yazd Company, said at the Abadiran Expo that by using special faucets in water coolers, there is no need for plastic cups to drink water, the new portal of the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology reported.
“After placing the straw in the faucet and pressing a button, the desired amount of water can be sipped,” he explained.
“The water cooler prevents plastic and paper cup waste, which helps users make a huge saving.”
The water cooler can reduce water consumption by 50-60%, which is especially advantageous in areas facing water deficits.
The CEO noted that the company has currently created 30 direct jobs, which could increase to 200.
“The company also produces pedal faucets that can be installed on bathroom showers and swamp cooler shades to optimize water consumption,” he said.
Dehnavi said he has been working in the field of water optimization for 16 years and registered 12 patents with the approval of the Energy Ministry and the Iranian Research Organization for Science and Technology, of which four have been mass-produced.
Noavaran Behineh Karan Yazd Company participated in Abadiran Expo that was held from June 13-15 at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosalla.
Companies active in the fields of housing, farming, animal husbandry, fisheries, machinery, urban and rural infrastructure development, health, water, energy and environment, as well as cultural, educational and recreational technologies, showcased their latest products at the exhibition.
Water Tank Remote Monitoring System Better, Cheaper Than Imports
A knowledge-based company has produced a remote-controlled monitoring system for water tanks, which is considerably cheaper and more efficient than its foreign counterparts.
The domestic system helps control water consumption, the condition of pumping stations and electrical parameters of power stations remotely, according to the CEO of Afarinesh System Company (also known as Pouya Systems).
“The company’s system facilitates consumption management, cost analysis and industrial assistance with regard to water, oil, gas and electricity supply,” Ahmad Shariati was also quoted as saying by the news portal of the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology.
He added that it costs a quarter of a foreign counterpart’s price and provides similar services, as the company uses domestic accessories like antennas, sensors, etc. for the system.
“The equipment produced by this company can be easily integrated with foreign software and is completely modular and unique. This helps the hardware to be fully customized as per the customer’s needs,” he said.
“All circuit boards, modules, transmitters, Yagi antennas, etc. used in the remote-control system are produced by the company, which has led to the creation of 20-25 direct and indirect jobs in different fields.”
According to the company’s CEO, Pouya Systems has based its work on the concept of wireless control and produce a wireless water tank control system to meet the needs of the water, oil and gas industries.
“Our products employ telemetry [transmitting the readings of an instrument]. A number of foreign companies such as Siemens and Schneider have produced different equipment for use in remote terminal units. But due to the sanctions and problems related to component supply and technological support, as well as high prices, there was a need for such a domestic system. The company entered this field and managed to produce efficient domestic counterparts,” he said.
Shariati noted that currently there is no information on the currency outflow related to the import of such foreign systems.
