First Vice-President Es’haq Jahangiri says increasing non-oil exports is high on the agenda of the government, IRNA reported on Tuesday. Speaking in the southern island of Qeshm, he added that in order to achieve this goal, all obstacles in the way of exporters must be removed and they must be encouraged through all means possible. Iran’s non-oil exports increased nearly 18 percent in the first nine months of the current Iranian year (to end March 20), compared with the similar period last year, official statistic show. The value of non-oil exports significantly rose over the past Iranian month of Dey (ending on January 20th) as the country exported 7.439 billion dollars worth of commodities, and the trade balance stood at $2.2 billion in Iran’s favor.
