About 2.2 million tons of commodities worth more than $1.06 billion were exported from the western Kermanshah Province’s customs offices during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21-Aug. 22), showing a 27% and 54% increase in terms of weight and value respectively compared with the corresponding period of last year.
According to Khalil Heydari, director general of Kermanshah Customs Offices, the exports mainly included detergent, potato, tiles, fresh or frozen tomato, evaporative coolers, plastic bags, ice cream, nylon rolls, packaging sacks from polyethylene and polypropylene, plywood covers, melamine and disposable tableware.
Neighboring Iraq was the main destination of the above-mentioned products, Mehr News Agency reported.
Heydari noted that the border customs offices of Parvizkhan, Sumar, Shoushemi, Khostavi and Sheykh Salleh accounted for 51%, 24.5%, 10.3%, 8.1% and 6.1% of the total exports respectively.
