Charsou Art and Culture Institute in Tehran will have a single screening of “Certified Copy,” the 2010 romantic drama of the late auteur Abbas Kiarostami on September 23, Tiwall.com wrote. Starring French actress Juliette Binoche and British opera singer William Shimell in his debut acting role, Certified Copy is set in Tuscany, a region in central Italy, and focuses on a British writer and a French antiques dealer, whose relationship undergoes a strange transformation over the course of a day. They travel to a nearby town, take coffee, visit a museum and pretend to be recently married. The film premiered at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival where Binoche won the Best Actress Award. It has won many international awards. Born in Tehran, Kiarostami was an accomplished filmmaker since 1970 for his 40 plus films, including shorts, documentaries and features. He studied at the College of Fine Arts, University of Tehran, and later worked as a graphic designer, book illustrator and advertising filmmaker. For his cinematic works, he received more than 80 international awards. “Close-Up”, “Certified Copy”, “Taste of Cherry”, “Where is the Friend’s Home?”, and “The Wind Will Carry Us” are some of his most popular films.
The institute is located at No. 24, Shaqaqi Street, north west of Seyyed Khandan Bridge.
