Works of freelance Iranian illustrator Narjes Mohammadi are on display in an exclusive exhibition in the province of Granada in Spain.
Mohammadi’s works are hosted by ErranT Espacio Cowork, an institute promoting art of illustration. The show opened Monday and will run through October 31, Honaronline reported.
The show is titled “Bird Woman”. As she explained “the collection is about re-discovering ourselves”.
The title refers to birds that can fly freely without any restrictions, and suggests women, too, can free their minds of any limitations imposed on them.
“In my works I like to try different techniques, styles and materials, but most of them are created with digital art, pencil and acrylic,” Mohammadi said.
The 20 works (on A3 paper) selected for the show are being shown for the first time.
Born in Mashhad, Mohammadi, 33, is a member of the USA Society of Illustration and the International Society of Writers and Illustrators.
She is the founder and editor-in-chief of the online English language magazine Brightness. The magazine is dedicated to introducing illustrators from around the world. Every edition carries three interviews, two with veteran illustrators and one with a young emerging artist.
The young artists has held many solo and group exhibitions in Iran, Germany and Azerbaijan and received several awards in national and international competitions, including the Jury Award from the online Hiii Illustration International Competition 2017 and the Merit Award in IJungle Illustration Festival 2017.
