E1 Art Gallery will hold an exhibition of paintings by notable filmmaker Tahmineh Milani from September 7.
Milani has created 26 paintings during the past few years -- a lifelong dream of being a painter, Iran Art reported.
Although she studied architecture in university, she went on to become a prominent filmmaker.
Milani, 58, is a winner of film awards at national and international festivals. She is better known for her feminist approach seen in films such as “The Hidden Half” (2001), “The Fifth Reaction” (2003) and “The Unwanted Woman” (2005). According to Milani, each of the paintings presented in the show tells the story of kindness, injuries of her soul and the pain and suffering of womankind. The gallery located at No. 1, Hamid Alley, Lesani Avenue, Jebheh Street, Mahdieh Street, will show Milani’s works for a week.
