Short animation “The Bystander” directed by Sheyda Kashi has entered the lineup for the 32nd Festival International du Film Amateur de Kelibia in Tunisia, August 12-19.

The 8-minute animated film will compete with 50 short films, Mehr News Agency reported on its Persian website.

It is about an old man who lives behind a window, watching a cold and vulnerable world. He does not care about the revolution taking place in the country. Looking back he realizes that when he was young he had played an active role in another revolution.

Kashi, a graphic designer and director, has won the best animation award in Ukraine’s Cinemaway Film Festival and was winner of the Best Animation Prize at the 18th “Picture This” Film Festival in Canada.

The Tunisian festival is organized by the Tunisian Federation of Amateur Filmmakers. It seeks to facilitate the promotion and dissemination of works of up-and-coming filmmakers.
