The General Inspection Organization of Iran has set up an inquiry to identify and declare the culpability of those behind recent disruptions in the automotive, housing, foreign exchange and gold coin markets. “As the head of the judiciary has previously announced, the inspection organization has opened an investigation in the four sectors and will submit a report to the authorities shortly, in line with the judiciary chief’s strict instructions to bring the offenders and profiteers to justice,” IBENA quoted GIOI Director Nasser Seraj as saying on Wednesday. Seraj said the turmoil simmering in the automotive market since the eruption of a currency crisis in April has largely been stemmed. “We managed to restore calm to the car purchasing process in coordination with auto manufacturers,” he said.
