Kourosh Yaghmaei’s 1991 hit song “Gol-e Yakh” (ice flower) is to be the soundtrack of the German comedy “Liebesfilm” (Love Movie).
According to a post uploaded on the Instagram of rock musician and singer Yaghmaei, the film is directed by Robert Bohrer.
Yaghmaei, 71, started his career in the 1970s. He is considered to be the first rock musician in Iran.
“Gol-e-Yakh”, from an album of namesake title, was the first professional work by Yaghmaei as composer.
The lyrics of the song is by poet Mehdi Akhavan Langeroudi who was a classmate to Yaghmaei when the two were studying sociology at former Iran National University, now called Shahid Beheshti University.
Earlier this year the hit track was sampled for the song “Adam and Eve” by American rapper, recorder, producer and actor Nasir Bin Olu Dara Jones, better known by his stage name Nas.
