Thousands of truck drivers were expected to end their strike and return to work on Monday, following a deal made between the representatives of Truckers Guild Association and government officials.
Following the fourth meeting with the Minister of Roads and Urban Development Abbas Akhoundi, this time at Majlis Development Commission on Monday, the association put out a statement and called for an end to truck drivers’ strike, ILNA quoted deputy minister, Abdolhashem Hassannia, as saying.
One of the key government concessions to strikers were a 20% rise in truck rental rates in all provinces.
A number of truckers across the country took industrial action over the past week.
