14,000 Complaints Against Businesses in One Month

More than 14,000 public complaints were filed against goods and service providers with the industries, mining and trade organizations of Iranian provinces in the first month of the current Iranian year (March 21-April 20), an official with the Consumer and Producer Protection Organization said.

Gholamreza Saremian also told ILNA that 81% of the complaints pertained to products and the rest to services, stressing that most of the complaints against sellers pertained to bread, fruit and vegetables.

Restaurants and parking lots were service centers accounting for the majority of complaints.

Most of the complaints were over profiteering, shortchanging and not displaying price tags on products. Iranian citizens can file complaints against businesses through the hotline 124.
