Tax Exemption for Civil Servants

Lawmakers in the Iranian Parliament approved on Saturday income tax exemption for civil servants who earn less than 20 million rials (about $530) a month. The decision was part of the parliament’s review of the budget bill for the 2017-18 fiscal year, which begins on March 21. The government’s budget bill had initially suggested that the threshold be 15 million rials ($397), IRNA reported.
