Working-Age Population Rises

Iran’s working-age population, i.e. people over 10, stood at 65.3 million in the last Iranian year (ended March 19, 2016), registering a 15% increase compared to a decade ago when it was 56.8 million, a deputy minister of cooperatives, labor and social welfare said. Referring to the significant growth of working-age population in Iran, Isa Mansouri added that the country is in a demographic window, a period when a significant portion of the population becomes younger and the percentage of people able to work reaches its height, IRNA reported.
