The working permit of Afra Motor—a local representative of Volvo in Iran—has been cancelled until further notice.
The Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade has taken the measure following complaints from customers who claim that the company refused to offer after-sales services.
Several people had filed complaints with Iran's Organization for Protection of Consumers and Producers (OPCP) Rights, which in turn demanded the company's permit be cancelled.
Iran's Guilds website shows that the company's work permit which was valid up until March 2020 has now been cancelled, ISNA reported on January 3.
An informed source said the company must "tend to customer complaints, ensure their satisfaction and fix its after-sales system."
If the company meets the requirements demanded by the OPCP, it may allow the company to resume its operations.
The source noted that the company has set out to fix the series of issues, and they could be given official permission to sell again in the coming weeks or months.
