Tayyebnia Meets CNB Chief

Iran’s Economy Minister Ali Tayyebnia has called for the expansion of Iran-Czech banking relations during a meeting with Governor of Czech National Bank Jiri Rusnok on Thursday in Prague. Tayyebnia pointed to Czech officials’ interest in boosting trade with Iran, noting that normal corresponding banking relations is a prerequisite for increasing bilateral trade, SHADA reported. Rusnok added that his bank considers no restrictions for Czech banks to work with Iran. “We would support banks and companies in doing business with Iran.” CNB is the central bank of Czech Republic, the supervisor of the Czech financial market. Tayyebnia has traveled to Prague to take part in Iran-Czech Republic Economic Commission. Back in May, officials at CSOB, one of the largest banks in Czech, said they have established links with nine Iranian lenders.
