Support Package for Hard-to-Treat Diseases

The Health Ministry is preparing a support package for hard-to-treat diseases in the country. “The package will comprise protocols in two areas: to increase easy access to medical information and services in all regions of the country, and to provide financial support in several ways,” said Jamshid Kermanchi, director of the ministry’s Diseases Treatment Department. He said the package is currently being drafted in cooperation with academia and health experts so as to best serve patients as well as the service providers, ISNA reported. There are over 400,000 people with rare diseases in Iran.
