A total of 714 LDR (Labor-Delivery-Recovery) rooms were inaugurated in 144 hospitals in 135 cities across the country on Tuesday.
Health Minister Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi, who was in Fasa city in Fars Province, attended the ceremonies via video conference, ISNA reported.
Reducing c-section, promoting natural child delivery, and making natural child delivery services free are among the targets of the 2014 Health Reform Plan.
The LDR rooms are part of a program to set up 2,000 child delivery units in 355 hospitals by the end of the current administration’s term in mid 2017. The program also covers 85% of all infertility treatment costs.
