The Interexchange Electronic Union (IEU) officially approved the membership of the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) on the second day of its international meeting in Tehran on Monday, reported SENA.

The decision, which was made during the second meeting of the mercantile exchanges of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Eastern European countries, is considered as one of the most important steps taken to internationalize the country's equity market. The membership would help the IME have fast, secure, and transparent trades and exchanges with countries such as Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia, as the observer member of the union.
