The first shipment of wood pulp from Russia’s Astrakhan has been delivered to Amirabad Port’s paper mill, the director of the northern Iranian port said. Construction of the mill began in 2006, but it never became operational due to lack of machinery. “Now the paper mill is well equipped and the needed raw material has been imported,” Ali Khedmatgozar was also quoted as saying by IRNA. Khedmatgozar put the private sector’s investment in this factory at 2,500 billion rials (around $70.68 million at market exchange rates) and its projected output at 150,000 tons per annum.
