The government has allocated 64,000 billion rials ($2.11 billion at official exchange rate) for the expansion and renovation of the country’s roads in the current Iranian year (started March 20), an official with the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development said on Thursday. “Ten major corridors have been defined and the government has earmarked funds for the implementation of these projects in the current year,” Amir Amini also told IRNA.
