Iran’s Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Ali Tayyebnia and his deputies Mohammad Khazaei and Shapour Mohammadi attended the 31st session of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Istanbul, Turkey, on Wednesday.
The Iranian minister was also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with the ministers of the participating member states of COMCEC, Mehr News Agency reported.
The two-day meeting will include discussions on sustainable development goals and post-2015 development agenda as well as cooperation with non-governmental organizations and private sector.
COMCEC is one of the four standing committees of OIC. It was established in 1981 at the Third Islamic Summit Conference held in Saudi Arabia and serves as a multilateral economic and commercial cooperation forum in the Muslim world. The committee convenes annually at the ministerial level in Istanbul under the chairmanship of Turkey.
