A typical Iranian household would be able to buy a house after 36 years if it saved up to one thirds of its annual income in 2012/13, Tasnim news agency said. According to the report, if an average household saved all of its annual income in the year it would be able to buy a 100 square meter flat in urban areas in 12 years. The analysis was based on the housing accessibility index on cost-income reports prepared by the Statistical Center of Iran and also the statistical reports of the Office of Housing Planning.
