Crowd funding has made the impossible possible, and the ‘Lord of the Rings’ fans aspire to do just that, by raising $2.82 billion to build a full sized replica of the city Minas Tirith.
The project is being planned by a self-professed “ambitious team of architects and structural engineers,” and headed by Jonathan Wilson. If funded, work will begin in Northern England in 2016, and be completed by 2023, Boredpanda.com reported.
“We all share a love of Tolkien’s work, and a desire to challenge the common perception of community and architecture,” states the project’s page. “We believe that, in realizing Minas Tirith, we can create not only the most remarkable tourist attraction on the planet, but also a wonderfully unique place to live and work”.
