Renault has published a teaser video with an RS version of the Sandero supermini on Monday, World Car Fans reported.

Developed by Renaultsport, the new hot hatch Sandero will wear the diamond logo and it's not known at this point whether Dacia will be getting its own version of the model or whether Renault will be pushing it with their logo in different markets. The video doesn't reveal much, however one does notice a redesigned front bumper hosting LED daytime running lights.

Expect a more aggressive body, larger brakes, dual exhaust tips, enlarged black wheels with Continental tires along with a few minor interior tweaks denoting it's a higher specification RS model.

Taking into account it will wear Renault's badge, the model will be sold in markets such as Russia and Brazil where Dacia is not commercially available. The identity of the engine is not known at this point, but most likely it will be a naturally aspirated unit teamed up with a six-speed manual gearbox. One possible candidate for the engine is a 2.0-liter 16v from the BR-spec Duster where it churns 143 bhp when running on gasoline and 148 bhp on ethanol.

With Renault expanding its offer in the Iranian market, cars like the RS may be produced locally in with one of the many different carmakers which currently have a contract with the company. Renault produces the Dacia Logan vehicle in the Iranian market under the name Tondar 90, it has mentioned it will bring newer models like the Sandero; however, in recent months the only new Renault vehicle available in the local market is the Renault (Dacia) Duster, which currently sells for 900 million rials ($27,000 at market exchange rate.)
