A total of 6.89 million tons of goods worth $2.76 billion were exported from Kermanshah Province’s customs terminals in the fiscal 2022-23 (ended March 20), registering a 6% and a 1% rise in terms of weight and value respectively compared with the year before, according to a local customs official.
“Among the customs terminals of the province, Parvizkhan has the largest export share as 2.5 million tons of goods worth 971.53 million were exported from this terminal. Khosravi and Sumar customs came next,” Ali Asghar Abbaszadeh was quoted as saying by IRNA.
He noted that rebar and ironware, tile and ceramic, fruit and vegetable, construction stones, dairy and plastic products, as well as disposable dishes were the main goods exported from Kermanshah.
Meanwhile, 7,893 tons of goods worth $55.91 million were imported via customs terminals of Kermanshah Province during the same period, registering a 69% and a 16% decline in terms of weight and value, respectively.
The imports mainly included aluminum alloy, labeling machine components, production line equipment, bearings, ingot molds, filters and compressors.
Kermanshah in western Iran shares around 371 kilometers of borders with Iraq’s central government as well as the Kurdestan Region. With six official border terminals and markets, the province accounts for almost half of Iran’s annual non-oil exports to Iraq.
Parvizkhan terminal located in Qasr-e Shirin County shares 186 kilometers of borders with the neighboring country.
Iraq is one of the main destinations for Iran’s agricultural and food products as well as mineral and mining exports.
