Tehran Stock Exchange's main index, TEDPIX, gained 18,292.84 points or 1.26% on Wednesday to end at 1,472,760.53. The TSE equal-weighted index was 0.85% higher.
About 10.47 billion shares worth 72.05 trillion rials ($231.22 million) changed hands for the day. Trading at TSE and over-the-counter Iran Fara Bourse starts on Saturday and ends Wednesday.
Pegah Khorasan Dairy Company led the winner’s list as its shares jumped 6.84% to 7,340 rials per share.
One and One Food Industry Company was the big loser among all TSE-listed companies plunging 3.96% to 39,040 rials per share.
Pasargad Bank contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Mellat Bank, Tejarat Bank and Bank Saderat Iran.
Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by Mobarakeh Steel Company, National Iranian Copper Industries Company and Chadormalu Mining And Industrial Company.
IFX Rises 0.2%
Iran Fara Bourse main index IFX gained 37.78 points or 0.2% to close Wednesday at 18,858.39.
About 7.35 billion securities worth 96.55 trillion rials ($332.9m) were traded at the over-the-counter exchange for the day.
Day Bank had the highest number of traded shares at 461.4 million worth 289.08 billion rials ($996,848).
Dena Afarin Fadak Food Preparation and Distribution Company was in the lead in terms of growth among all IFB-listed companies climbing 7% to reach 16,060 rials per share.
The big loser was Pasargad Insurance Company plunging 4.51% to reach 20,100 rials per share.
Pasargad Insurance Company, Minoo Industrial Group Company, Day Bank and Daana Pharmaceutical Company had the most negative impact on IFX.
Arya Sasol Polymer Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company, Zagros Petrochemical Company and Tajali Mines and Metals Development Company.
