Jam Petrochemical Company Attends German Trade Fair

Jam Petrochemical Company participated in the world's largest trade fair for the plastics and rubber industry, K 2022, which was held on October 19-26 in Dusseldorf, Germany.

As one of the biggest producers of wide-ranging olefins in the Middle East, the company’s managers held various meetings and negotiations in the event with foreign participants regarding supply and procurement of chemical products and catalysts, marketing and sales, as well as the development of ongoing projects, ILNA reported.

According to the managing director of the company, besides introducing the company’s activities and products to the visitors, the company’s representatives held negotiations and meetings on supplying chemicals, catalysts and parts required by the company, which led to the identification of reliable suppliers and the signing of a oreliminary agreement.

Speaking about the export destination of the company’s products, Abdolrahim Qanbarian added that earlier, Jam's traditional petrochemical customer was China, but it has succeeded in attracting new markets, including Turkey, CIS countries, Europe and India.

He expressed hope that the company can continue to participate in similar exhibitions in Turkey, India and China to increase exports and find new suppliers.

The K 2022 exhibition, which takes place every three years, gathers the most important supplier of plastics and rubber machinery, raw and auxiliary materials and semi-finished products, technical parts and reinforced plastic products under one roof.

It is an ideal platform to showcase products and innovations, and to make business contacts.

Increasing Production

Jam Petrochemical Company, located in the port city of Asalouyeh, Bushehr Province, will increase production with the launch of an ABS/rubber production unit.

The unit’s construction has registered over 85% progress and it is expected to become operational in eight months.

The measure is in line with plans to complete the value chain of products at the complex.

Upon completion, the unit will produce 200,000 tons of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer (ABS) as well as 60,000 tons of rubber per year.

ABS is a hard, heat-resistant engineering plastic that is widely used in housing appliances, pipe fittings and automotive interior parts.

As well as its uses in computer keyboard components and LEGO bricks, ABS is commonly used to make plastic face guards for wall sockets and protective housing for power tools. It is commonly used in the automotive field too, for items such as plastic alloys and decorative interior car parts.

Constructing new ethylene production units, increasing exports and producing petrochemicals with higher value-added are also on the company’s agenda.

JPC produces various chemical and petrochemical products, including a high density grade of polyethylene used for producing PE100 pipes that possess higher long-term strength and are used in oil, gas, water and wastewater pipeline networks.
