    H1 Trade With Spain Tops €190m

    Iran’s trade with Spain reached 61,961 tons worth €192.14 million in the first six months of 2022, registering a respective rise of 9.3% and 21.6% in tonnage and value compared with the corresponding period of 2021, according to the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade.

    Exports to Spain stood at 46,999 tons worth €474.13 million, registering a 62.7% and 68.7% year-on-year rise in terms of weight and value respectively.

    Saffron with €18.33 million, pistachio with €10.7 million, heavy polyethylene with €6.95 million and fluted glass with €6.56 million were the main goods exported to Spain from Iran during the period, IRIB News reported.

    Valencia with €27.12 million, Barcelona with €10.48 million, Alicante with €10.02 million, Madrid with €7.44 million and Toledo with €5.3 million were Iran’s top export destinations in Spain.

    Iran’s imports from Spain hit 12,962 tons worth 118.01 million during the same period, registering a 2.46% decline in terms of weight, but a 5.3% growth in terms of value.

    Furnaces and ovens for melting metals with €19.06 million, valves for oleo-hydraulic transmissions with €8 million, components and parts of electric furnaces and ovens with €7.81 million, vaccines with €6.39 million and cranes with €5.1 million were the main imported products.

    Iran and the European Union’s 27 member states traded €2.59 billion worth of goods in H1 2022, registering a 15.23% rise compared with last year's corresponding period.

    According to Eurostat, Germany was the top trading partner of Iran in the EU region during the period, as the two countries exchanged €950.19 million worth of goods, 6.34% more than in the similar period of the year before. 

    Iran exported €555.14 million worth of goods to the EU during the period, indicating a 36.18% year-on-year rise.

    Iran’s H1 imports from the EU member states grew by 10.58% YOY to €2.03 billion.
