Smart AI Speaker Developed

A knowledge-based company has developed a smart artificial intelligence speaker via reverse engineering to help meet organizational and household needs

A domestic knowledge-based company has developed a smart artificial intelligence speaker via reverse engineering.

The smart AI assistance speaker helps meet organizational and household needs, according to the CEO of Pooyesh Taradeh Company.

“The smart speaker, which is an AI voice assistant and secretary, can be installed at home or work, and it is connected to the central server through the internet,” Mosayeb Mirani was also quoted as saying by the news portal of the Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology.

Users may type all commands in a search engine and the speaker will deliver the accurate result.

For instance, the device assists in updating the daily rates of foreign currencies and gold coins, weather conditions and daily news.

Apart from playing their favorite music, the device can adjust the room temperature, turn on or off the lights and change the direction of home security cameras if it is connected to the smart home system and the appliance supports smart home features.

Voice assistant technology is expanding in the world and it is predicted to soon become an integral part of managing workplaces and driving cars.

The knowledge-based company is active in the fields of artificial intelligence, computer and electronics, but the main focus is to produce foreign hardware and software domestically. Reverse engineering of devices and services related to emerging technologies helps achieve this objective.

By establishing the Foresight Department and the Vice-Presidency for Innovation and Commercialization, the Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology is helping use emerging technologies domestically to be able to compete with foreign counterparts.

Another product of this company is a device that helps use an injection via radiation and without having to struggle with the traditional method for detecting the patient’s vein.

Noting that the product portfolio of this knowledge-based company is diverse, Mirani said solving problems and responding to the needs of different domestic departments and institutions are among the important goals of innovative and knowledge-based companies.

“We have set up a research and development unit that provides the necessary data and equipment for employing emerging technologies and developing smart products through reverse engineering,” he said.

Software Uses AI to Detect, Treat Mental Illnesses

Iran has also advanced in the use of artificial intelligence in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness.

Mental disorders and psychiatric illnesses are very challenging to diagnose, but a new software designed by domestic experts can diagnose six illnesses much faster than traditional methods.

Using advanced and convergent technologies, the diagnostic software gains insight into illnesses more efficiently and quickly than the traditional treatment.

The software diagnoses chronic depression, chronic anxiety, bipolar disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder and schizophrenia.

“Data of patients with different disorders have been collected, which include structural, functional and structural-functional images,” said Mohammad Reza Nazemzadeh, a faculty member of the Tehran University of Medical Sciences.

The new method uses magnetic resonance imaging to provide accurate information about each individual and acts as an effective diagnostic tool.

The images are evaluated to determine the type of disease and the damaged area in the brain, following which an appropriate treatment protocol is recommended.

In the field of mental health, all methods and diagnoses are based on face-to-face interviews and visits by a psychiatrist, while with this method, X-rays provide more detailed images and information to the doctor.

The treatment of the disease, which observes advanced protocols, is scientifically precise and gives faster results.

The advanced version of the software uses five archetypes from each field whose images before and after treatment are adapted to the model customized for the patient under study. This feature will be added to the current version of the software in the next fiscal year (starting March 21).

With the development of this psycho-radiology software, Iran ranks among the few countries using this technology. The software has reached the production stage.

Reducing the Risk in Cosmetic Surgeries

Another knowledge-based company has developed a portable scanner used in cosmetic surgeries.

The presence of high quality and standard equipment to reduce risk is of great significance in cosmetic surgeries.

Every year, a large number of foreigners travel to Iran to perform cosmetic surgeries, where the capabilities of the surgeon and the high precision of devices help offer risk-free services.

The 180-360-degree portable scanner for simulating changes in the nose during the surgery and reducing the risk of rhinoplasty have been developed by Pasargad Bonyan Teb Tarah Company.

Also, the manufacture of portable scanners and related equipment for performing eyebrow surgery are among other products of this company.

The knowledge-based company employs 68 people directly and 200 indirectly.
