The benchmark of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, shed 3,922.11 points or 0.27% on Tuesday to end trade at 1,441,217.10.
Unlike the market cap-weighted TEDPIX, the TSE’s equal-weighted index closed slightly above the flatline as small caps outperformed.
Retail trade dropped 13% from the session before to reach 27.24 trillion rials ($93.9 million).
About 6.07 billion shares worth 35.96 trillion rials ($124m) changed hands at TSE for the day.
Petrochemical Transport Engineering Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 6.73% to 33,800 rials per share.
Rena Industrial Group Investment Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 4.95% to 5,570 rials per share.
Mobarakeh Steel Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Tamin Petroleum and Petrochemical Investment Company, Iran Khodro Company and Saipa Automaker Company.
Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by Jam Petrochemical Company, Khorasan Steel Company and Esfahan Steel Company.

Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, lost 14.96 points or 0.08% to close Tuesday trade at the 19,298.
About 3.64 billion shares and securities worth 209.91 trillion rials ($723.8m) were traded at the junior equities exchange for the day.
Kerman Province Development Investment Company had the highest number of traded shares as 204.9 million of its shares worth 177.68 billion rials ($612,689) were traded.
Day Bank, Pouya Zarkan Agh Darreh Company, Arya Sasol Polymer Company and Bahman Diesel Company had the most negative impact on IFX.
MAPNA Asaluyeh Power Generation Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Maadiran Industries Company, Chaharmahal Food Products and Sugar Company and Saba Tamin Investment Company.
