Tehran Stocks Open Week Lower 

Tehran’s share market opened trading week Saturday again lower as selloff pressure swept through almost all stocks. 

The main index of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, lost 12,585.13 points or 0.87% to end trade at 1,438,819.24.

The TSE’s equal-weighted index was down 0.4%, reflecting the performance of small caps and penny stocks. 

Retail trade dropped 18% on the session before to reach 31.41 trillion rials ($108 million). 

About 6.99 billion shares worth 37.8 trillion rials ($130.4m) changed hands at TSE for the day.

Trading at TSE and the junior equities exchange Iran Fara Bourse starts on Saturday and ends Wednesday.

Dana Insurance Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 5.43% to 1,068 rials per share. Saipa Investment Group Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 5.72% to 5,270 rials per share.

Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Company, National Iranian Copper Industries Company and Golgohar Mining and Industrial Company.

Fanavaran Petrochemical Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines Company, Barakat Pharmaceuticals Group Company and Tehran Oil Refining Company.

 

IFX Down 0.15%

Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, lost 28.57 points or 0.15% to close Saturday trade at the 19,016.

About 3.54 billion shares and securities worth 170.35 trillion rials ($587.4m) were traded at the junior equities exchange for the day.

Day Bank had the highest number of traded shares as 347.27 million of its shares worth 241.6 billion rials ($833,096) were traded.

Arya Sasol Polymer Company, Gohar Zamin Iron Ore Company, Bahman Diesel Company and Day Bank had the most negative impact on IFX.

Pasargad Insurance Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Shiraz Oil Refining Company, Zagros Petrochemical Company and Minoo Industrial Group Company.
