TEDPIX Near Flatline as Small Caps Gain

The benchmark of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, closed Monday near the flatline after it pared early losses. 

In a shift in the middle of the session, the market cap-weighted benchmark crept into a positive zone gain 43.91 points and offsetting losses earlier in the day. 

Small caps advanced above the flatline and pushed the TSE’s equal-weighted index by close to 0.5%. 

Gainers outpaced losers with 352 tickers wrapping up trade in positive territory, representing 55% of the total trade. 

Retail trade amounted to 36.64 trillion rials ($122 million) on Monday, up 4% on the session before. 

A total of 7.93 billion shares valued at 42.81 trillion rials ($142.6m) changed hands at TSE for the day.

Telecommunication Company of Iran was the biggest winner as its shares jumped 5.12% to 6,770 rials per share.

Navard Aluminum Manufacturing Group Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies falling 4.29% to 26,080 rials per share.

Mobarakeh Steel Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by National Iranian Copper Industries Company, Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company and Golgohar Mining and Industrial Company.

Mellat Bank gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by Telecommunication Company of Iran, Iran Khodro Company and Tejarat Bank.

 

IFX Down 0.1%

Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, lost 20.72 points or 0.11% to close Monday trade at 19,184. About 4.7 billion shares and securities were traded at the junior equities exchange for the day.

Day Bank had the highest number of traded shares as 439.8 million of its shares worth 319.3 billion rials ($1.1 million) were traded.

Pasargad Insurance Company, Iranian Ghadir Iron and Steel Company, MAPNA Asaluyeh Power Generation Company and Pouya Zarkan Agh Darreh Company had the most negative impact on IFX.

Zagros Petrochemical Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Bahman Diesel Company, Saba Tamin Investment Company and Lavan Oil Refining Company.
