Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union are expected to sign a free trade agreement in the eighth Iranian month Azar (Nov. 22-Dec. 21).
The statement was made by Alireza Peymanpak, the head of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, during a joint commercial forum between Iran and Russia on Wednesday.
The event, hosted by Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, was co-chaired by Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, who doubles as the Russian chairman of Iran-Russia Cooperation Commission, and President of Tehran Chamber of Commerce Masoud Khansari.
The Russian deputy premier headed a 43-strong delegation in his Tehran visit.
Other main figures accompanying the delegation were General Director of Russian Export Center Veronika Nikishina; First Deputy Minister of Industries and Trade Vasiliy Segeevich Osmakov; and Russia’s Ambassador to Iran Levan Dzhagaryan, who was scheduled to meet with Iranian Industries Minister Reza Fatemi-Amin.
Economic play the two sides in a wide range of fields, including railroads, renewable energies, marine services, transportation, oil and gas, free trade zones, metallurgy, chemicals, minerals, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, information technology, light and heavy vehicles, iron and steel products, cement and helicopter construction, surveyed new ways of expanding bilateral cooperation in Tehran’s Espinas Palace Hotel.
