Taleb D. Rifai, ecretary general of United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), on the last day of his visit to Iran presented a letter addressed to President Hassan Rouhani, written jointly by UNWTO and World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC). The letter which was received by the head of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO), Masoud Soltanifar, expressed the readiness of both world organizations in the tourism industry to expand collaboration with Iran in tourism-related areas, CHN reported. Rifai had traveled to Iran on February 11, for the inauguration of the 8th Tehran International Tourism Exhibition (TITE). On a very tight schedule alongside the exhibition, he had a meeting with ICHHTO senior officials and attended a major press conference. Rifai also traveled to Mashhad, Khorasan Razavi Province, paying a visit to Imam Reza (A.S.) Shrine and the mausoleum of world renowned Iranian Poet, Ferdowsi, as well as meeting with the province’s governor general, Alireza Rashidian. He left Iran Wednesday evening, February 13.
