18 Industrial Products Register Growth in Output

The Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade's survey of the current Iranian year’s first eight months (March 21-Nov. 21) indicates the output of 18 products (out of 27 under review) registered a year-on-year rise.

The production of trucks, mini trucks and vehicle pullers hit 6,177, up 75.5% YOY.

More than 915,900 washing machines were produced, up 26.8% and leather products amounted to 31.3 million square feet, up 24.3%.

Carbon black production stood at 109,300 tons, showing a YOY increase of 20.1% while that of polyester filament yarn hit 199,900 tons, registering a 17.4% growth YOY.

A total of 449 combine harvesters were manufactured, showing a 17.2% YOY rise, while 1,388 buses, minibuses and vans were manufactured, up by 16.2%. 

The output of refrigerators and freezers increased by 1.45 million sets to mark a 7.8% increase.

Tractor production stood at 14,280 in the period, up 6.6%.

Particle boards saw a 5.4% increase in production to 579,000 cubic meters.

A total of 589,400 passenger vehicles were manufactured, each showing a 4.2% rise.

Refined industrial and motor oil production hit 450,600 tons, up 4.07%.

The production of petrochemicals stood at 42.1 million tons, up 3.5%.

Polyester fibers’ output hit 131,400 tons, registering a 2.2% growth. 

The production of different types of paper stood at 681,700 tons, up 1.9% YOY, as cardboard production stood at 367,000 tons showing a 1.4% rise.

The production of shoes and other kinds of footwear hit 87.2 million pairs, showing a 0.5% increase compared with the similar period of last year.

Nine products out of the 27 under study registered a decline in production during the period.

A total of 1,370 tons of acrylic fibers were produced, down by 63.4%.

Around 15,500 tons of pesticides and insecticides were produced, down 34.1% YOY. 

Electromotor production stood at 5.6 million devices, down 17.2%.

Different types of synthetic fiber production declined by 14.6% YOY to stand at 154,700 tons.

The production of detergent powder reached 368,200 tons, registering a 12.9% fall.

The production of pick-up trucks reached 48,775, indicating a 7.7% decline. 

A total of 979,000 cubic meters of fibers were produced during the period, down 6%, while television production stood at 762,700 sets to register a YOY decrease of 4.9% while car tire production hit 173,400 tons, falling by 2.9% YOY.

 

 

Monthly Review

The ministry’s report also shows the output of 19 industrial products (out of 27) saw growth in the eighth month of the current fiscal year (Oct. 23-Nov. 21) compared with the previous month.

Trucks, mini trucks and vehicle pullers hit 1,165, up 40.9% MOM.

Around 1,600 tons of pesticides and insecticides were produced during the month, up 33.5%.

The output of leather products hit 7.5 million square feet, registering a 25% growth MOM.

The number of manufactured passenger vehicles reached 82,000, up 24.3% and television production hit 112,600 sets to register an increase of 23.1% MOM.

About 125,500 cubic meters of fibers were also produced, up 18.6%. 

Electromotor production stood at 6.66 million devices, up 14%.

About 250 buses, minibuses and vans were manufactured, up by 12.1%, and the production of pickup trucks stood at 7,521, indicating an 11.5% increase.

The output of refrigerators and freezers stood at 198,100 sets, up 11.4%.

Vegetable oil production stood at 165,900 tons, up 10.9% MOM.

The output of different types of paper stood at 99,900 tons, up 9.4% MOM. 

Cardboard production stood at 48,500 tons, up 9.3% MOM.

The manufacture of washing machines increased by 7.5% MOM to reach 120,300.

Refined industrial and motor oil production hit 61,900 tons, up 4.6%.

Polyester filament yarn’s output hit 27,400 tons, registering a 4.5% growth MOM.

Car tire production stood at 23,000 tons, each showing a 4.3% rise MOM.

The output of different types of synthetic fiber grew by 2.8% to stand at 18,500 tons.

The production of polyester fibers stood at 18,000 tons, registering a 2.7% growth. 

Seven products out of the 27 witnessed a decline in output during the month under review.

Shoes and footwear production hit 13 million pairs, marking an 18.8% decline.

The number of tractors stood at 1,735, showing an 11.5% decrease.

The carbon black production stood at 13,700 tons, showing a month-on-month decrease of 9.4%.

A total of 55 combine harvesters were manufactured, showing a 6.8% MOM decline.

The production of particle boards saw a 3.7% decline to reach 68,300 cubic meters.

The production of petrochemical hit 5.12 million tons, down 2.1% while that of detergent powders hit 43,100 tons, showing a 1.1% decline. 

Domestic manufacturers did not produce any acrylic fibers during the month.
