A total of 16,759 Iranians traveled to Turkey by road to go shopping amid Black Friday sales during Nov. 18-29, according to the spokesperson of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration.
“Over the same 11 days, 16,629 passengers returned via the Iran-Turkey border,” Rouhollah Latifi was also quoted as saying by ILNA.
The spokesman noted that Razi border located in West Azarbaijan Province’s Khoy County was the busiest of Iran’s three border crossings with Turkey, followed by Bazargan and Sarv in the same province’s Maku and Urmia counties respectively.
“The busiest days over the period were Nov. 27, 28 and 29, during which most of our passengers returned,” he said.
A majority of these road passengers were headed to Turkey’s Van Province.
