Tabriz-Ankara flights are scheduled to be launched as of Oct. 31 by Turkish Airlines, according to the director general of East Azarbaijan Airports Organization.
“The new flights arrive at Tabriz International Airport at 3:05 p.m. on Sundays and leave at 4 p.m. for Ankara,” Ramin Azari was also quoted as saying by the news portal of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
The official added that with the new flights, along with those to Istanbul, Izmir and Yerevan, the number of international routes to/from Tabriz International Airport increase to four.
Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company registered Tabriz-Istanbul as the busiest international air route in the first six months of the current fiscal year (March 21-Sept. 22).
Turkish Airlines recently added two flights to Tabriz-Istanbul air route.
The flights arrive at Tabriz International Airport at 3.20 p.m. and leave Tabriz for Istanbul at 4.15 p.m. on Saturdays and Thursdays, Azari was quoted as saying earlier.
Tabriz-Istanbul flights are also operated by other airlines, including IranAir, ATA and Meraj Airlines.
