Iran Central Iron Ore Company has started the construction of a new iron ore concentrate production plant with an annual capacity of 2 million tons and an investment of €105 million in the Bafq County of Yazd Province, according to the company’s CEO.
Reza Fallah Mobarakeh added that the plant will become operational in three years.
“The construction of the plant is mainly aimed at meeting the needs of the Se-Chahoon Pelletizing Plant,” he was quoted as saying by IRNA.
Yazd, one of the 31 provinces, is located in central Iran.
A total of 13.69 million tons of iron ore concentrate were produced during the three months under review, marking a 15% increase compared with the same period of last year.
According to latest data released by the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization, Golgohar Mining and Industrial Complex had the highest share of the output, by producing 4.66 million tons. The figure is 21% higher than in the same period of last year.
Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Complex came next with 3.1 million tons (up 18% YOY) and was followed by Middle East Mines and Mining Industries Development Holding Company with 1.79 million tons (up 2% YOY) and Goharzamin Iron Ore Company with 1.33 tons (up 23% YoY) of output in the three-month period.
Other major producers included Iran Central Iron Ore Company with 966,075 tons (down 3% YOY), SIMIDCO with 572,821 tons (down 5%) and Opal Parsian Sangan with 554,517 tons (unchanged from last year’s corresponding period).
Sabanour Mining and Industrial Development Company recorded the highest increase in iron ore concentrate production in Q1 of the fiscal year. The company’s output increased by 28% to 382,642 tons.
Iron ore concentrate output during the third Iranian month amounted to 13.69 million tons, registering a 15% growth compared with the same period of last year.
Golgohar Mining and Industrial Complex was the leading producer during the month, solely accounting for 1.46 million tons of the monthly output. Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Complex came after with 1.14 million tons of monthly output.
Goharzamin Iron Ore Company registered the highest increase of 46% during the month under review.
