Tehran’s share market closed trading week higher on Wednesday thanks to boosted demand for large caps and investor aversion to penny stocks.
The main index of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, gained 5,219.42 points or 0.43% to close at 1,207,850. The TSE equal-weighted index closed slightly below the flatline at 0.04%. The index gives a better picture on the performance of small caps.
About 6.45 billion shares valued at 44.04 trillion rials ($183.52 million) changed hands at TSE for the day. Bahman Group Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 5.93% to 1,430 rials per share.
Telecommunication Company of Iran incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 2.97% to 9,790 rials per share.
MAPNA Group Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Telecommunication Company of Iran, Esfahan Oil Refining Company and Tehran Oil Refining Company.
Mellat Bank gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company, National Iranian Copper Industries Company and Pasargad Bank.
Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, gained 23.85 points or 0.14% to close Wednesday at 17,660.
Gohar Zamin Iron Ore Company, Omid Taban Hour Energy Management Company, Minoo Industrial Group Company and Tabas Parvardeh Coal Company had the most negative impact on IFX.
Arya Sasol Polymer Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Middle East Mines and Mineral Industries Development Holding Company, Saba Tamin Investment Company and Mehr Ayandegan Financial Development Group Company.
